Union Depot Team Seeking Tall Evergreen Tree for “Hub for the Holidays” Festivities

July 15, 2019

The Union Depot management team is seeking a 50’-70’ tall evergreen tree to serve as the Union Depot Holiday Tree . The majestic evergreen will be the glittering showpiece of the venue’s Hub for the Holidays festivities, beginning with the Holiday Tree Lighting celebration on Friday, December 6. The Union Depot Holiday Tree —twinkling brightly with more than 15,000 energy-efficient LED lights—will stand tall on the North Plaza, adjacent to the Green Line light rail station on 4th Street, to welcome visitors to the grand front entrance of Union Depot during the holiday season.

The key requirements for a tree to be considered are:

  • it must have overgrown its location or otherwise needs to be removed
  • it must be in good condition as the tree will be viewed from 360 degrees
  • it must be located within Ramsey County

Individuals interested in donating a tree for this celebration should email their address and a photo of the tree to or call 651-202-2700. The owner of the chosen tree will be eligible to have the tree removed and the stump ground down at no charge plus participate in the Holiday Tree Lighting celebration. The deadline for submissions is Friday, September 20, 2019.
