Hop aboard an exhibit that explores the past and present of Union Depot through photography. Step back in time and visit the area before steam locomotives were brought to Minnesota. Follow along the story of the first Union Depot and the St. Paul Union Depot Company as they grew and expanded. Tragedy strikes as fire destroys the station twice and is rebuilt into the historic beauty it is today. Learn about the station through WWII, the height of train travel and the decline of passenger rail. View the exciting renovation and reopening to the public. Union Depot still functions as an operational train station, transit facility and popular event venue. Land to Legacy: Union Depot Through Time walks through 150 years of history of St. Paul, railroading and the historic Union Depot Be part of the history with your photo installed in Land to Legacy! From April 1-30, 2022, submit your photo involving Union Depot. Did you attend a wedding, Train Days, Doggie Depot or other event at Union Depot? Do you have a photo from a birthday or anniversary from Leeann Chin or Christos Greek Restaurant? Do you have a family member that has a photo from 1930’s-1970’s riding trains or picking up family and friends? Submit your photo! Photos that are selected will be printed and installed in the exhibit. The exhibit will be in the Head House at Union Depot from end of May to November 13, 2022.
