Explore our event spaces for information about room capacities and amenities. What is included in the venue rental fee? Waiting Room rental includes use and set-up of 72-inch round banquet tables and chairs for up to 600 guests and use of 15-foot grey drape for privacy to separate the public/private space. The Red Cap Room and Veterans Gallery rental includes use and set-up of 60-inch round banquet tables and chairs, up to room capacity. High-top tables are also available for use and set-up. The Riverview Conference Room (dressing room) rental includes a full length mirror and two lighted mirror vanities. What hours can we use the space on the day of our event? Event space booked is available to the client and vendors from 8 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on the day of your event. Client will need special permission to come before 8 a.m. Who can provide set-up, tables and chairs? All room provided amenities, including tables and chairs will be preset for your event. Any additional set-up needs would be provided by one of our preferred vendors. You may reach out directly to the vendors for pricing estimates. Can we choose our own caterer? Breaking Bread Catering is our on-site caterer. Breaking Bread offers wedding packages and customized menus with an array of fresh, made from scratch food for weddings of any size. If your event needs are different from those offerings, we have partnered with additional caterers to ensure we have a variety of options that fit every client’s vision. For any catering exceptions, please inquire with the Union Depot Venue Sales Manager. Who provides alcohol and bar services? Breaking Bread Catering holds the property liquor license for Union Depot and provides alcohol services, bar set-ups and bartenders. Are there food and beverage minimums? Some events may have a food and beverage minimum. You may work directly with Breaking Bread to determine how they can meet your needs. Place settings will be provided by the caterer. Additional information You may see a 10% service fee added to your invoice by preferred vendors.Additional security is required for ceremonies and receptions. Security fees are not included in the room rental fees.We have four large accessible parking lots and can offer parking validation for an additional fee. VIEW SPACES MEET THE EVENTS TEAM Dawn Westermann Dawn Westermann comes to us with a decade of event experience, helping customers plan and execute many aspects of events of all kinds and sizes. From working at a tent and event rental company, Dawn built a network of vendor and venue connections. Prior to that, she used her Mass Communication-Advertising degree in advertising sales for trade magazines in the industries of tented events and business communicators. Her work passion is “making cool events happen” in whatever capacity she has. For fun, she likes traveling, visiting museums, hearing live music, trying new microbrews and pheasant hunting with her son Nicolas and their Brittany Spaniel, Chase. Grace Barry Grace Barry earned a degree in Psychology from Kalamazoo College in Michigan but is a proud Minnesota native and happy to be back in her home state. As the Events Supervisor at Union Depot, Grace will work with you on the details leading up to your event and answer any questions you have regarding the venue. She will also be there on the day of your event to make sure everything runs smoothly and assist in the coordination of moving parts during the event. For fun, she likes to seek out live concerts, swing-dance, have cookouts with her family and is always trying new restaurants in the Twin Cities. Afton Bergdahl Afton Bergdahl earned a degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Business Administration from Winona State University. While in school, Afton discovered her passion for planning and executing events of all sizes and is happy to be doing what she loves in the city of St. Paul. Afton previously worked throughout the Greater Minnesota area coordinating a variety of weddings, galas, and community events. As a Special Events Coordinator at Union Depot, Afton looks forward to building strong relationships with clients of all event needs! From beginning to end, Afton will work with you in creating your vision come to life while assisting with any questions you may have about the venue. She will also be available on your event day to assist in coordinating various aspects to ensure a seamless and unforgettable event. For fun, she enjoys spending time outside with family and friends, traveling, playing tennis, and finding the best brussel sprout appetizer in town. Devyn Cannon Devyn Cannon earned a degree in Business Communications at the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota and is overjoyed to be able to continue her passion for bringing events to life in the beautiful city of Saint Paul. Devyn has previously worked organizing and executing community events within the Twin Cities as well as weddings in northern Minnesota. As a Special Events Coordinator at Union Depot, Devyn works to organize the details of our private events and will be present on the day of your event to see it all the way through execution! She provides exceptional service to clients, couples, guests, and vendors, ensuring that all events are executed seamlessly and unforgettable “moments” are created. For fun, she loves to rollerblade – In 2019 she skated the Apostle Island Inline Marathon, finishing the race in just under three hours.
